Made in Occupied Japan (circa 1945–1952). This vintage table lighter was designed to resemble a miniature desk lamp, complete with a working pull chain ignition system.

A perfect example of post-war Japanese export novelty design, these lamp-shaped lighters were popular as decorative smoking accessories and conversation pieces. The pull chain activates the lighter mechanism beneath the shade, blending functional design with playful mid-century styling.

Whether displayed on a desk, bar cart, or shelf, this piece sits right at the intersection of industrial design, smoking history, putting the "fun" in functional, a true oddity. 

Vintage Condition: There are no structural issues however, please keep in mind that this piece is in original vintage condition, so there is visible wear due to age and use. This includes surface scratches and one small paint chip. These characteristics are consistent with vintage metal items and add to the unique charm and authenticity of the piece.
